Byte To U32

Packs four bytes into a single U32

Category: Conversion

Description:

Some input blocks, e.g. RS485 Input, returns data split into bytes. In these situations, the Byte To U32 block is recommended due to the ability to pack the data into a DWORD. Figure 1 shows an example.

Figure 1 - Example Diagram

As can be seen, the number 2221313257 returned by the RS485 Input was split into four bytes. Individually, each byte has a different meaning, but after the packing, their collective arrangement does not shuffle the original content as provided to its inputs.

Ports:

Input

The Byte To U32 block has four input ports. Each one of them receives a byte of the U32 data. The upper port is responsible for the least significant byte and the lower is responsible for the most significant byte.

Data Types:
Output

Returns the reconstructed signal after the packing.
