RS485 Output

Sends a RS485 BUS communication

Category: Output

Description:

The RS485 Output block sends message by RS485 BUS communication. It is necessary to split the data in bytes as shown in Figure 1.

Different of the CAN Output block, the RS485 Output block receives as many byte as defined in its properties dialog. Figure 2 shows the parameters of the block from Figure 1.

Figure 3 and 4 show an example using the diagram from Figure 1 and its results.

Parameters:

Defines what RS485 will be used by the block.

The Payload Size parameter defines how many payload there are in the message. The number of the payloads

nn
is equal to the number of the Byte Output.

Message Header is the initial part of data communication that provides essential information about the message to be transmitted. In

QFIRE Studio

is possible to define it typing a decimal number or a hexadecimal number separating the different headers with semicolons.

Ports:

Input

The number of Byte port is equal to the number of Payload Size. Each one of the returns a payload. The Byte [0] port receives the least significant byte and the Byte[7] receives the most significant byte.
