Power Function

Computes power function of signal samples

Category: Math

Description:

Power Function block implements three different mathematical operations according to the parameter set. Figure 1 shows the Power Function Properties tab and the available functions.

Figure 1 - Power Function block dialog

The first and second function option, i.i. u^k and k^u respectively, require an additional parameter k to be defined in the dialog. The third function requires an additional input signal n. Figure 2 shows an example using all functions using parameter k=2.

Figure 2 - Different applications of the Power Function block

Parameters:

The user can choose among three functions to be executed:

  • u^k - Returns the Input Signal value raised to the power of the parameter k.
    Out=ukOut=u^k
  • k^u- Returns the parameter k raised to the power of the Input Signal.
    Out=kuOut=k^u
  • u^n - Returns the Input Signal u value raised to the power of the Input Signal n.
    Out=unOut=u^n

Ports:

Input

Signal used in the power function operations.

Data Types:

Signal used in the power function operation when the parameter Function is u^n.

Data Types:
Output

Result of the power function according to the parameters set.
