Gain

Multiplies the input signal by a constant value

Category: Math

Description:

The output signal is the result of the product between the input signal and a constant value. The constant value is a parameter defined by the user. This calculation is described by the equation:

y=kxy=kx

Where:

  • yy
    : Output signal.
  • xx
    : Input signal.
  • kk
    : Gain.

Figure 1 shows some examples of gain blocks being applied.

Figure 1 - Gain using different values

Parameters:

In every step during simulation, the input signal is multiplied by the gain value.

Every time that this parameter is typed, the system validates and, if necessary, quantifies the value in Q15.16 data type.

Ports:

Input

The signal flowing through this port is multiplied by the Gain Value.

Data Types:
Output

The result of the multiplication is returned by this port.
