Add

Adds or subtracts the input signals

Category: Math

Description:

Sums the input signals in different ways. Figure 1 shows the four different behavior of the Add block.

Figure 1 - Add block in four different modes

The icon of the block shows what operation is going to be executed in the simulation. It is possible to use more Add blocks adding more signals. See example in Figure 2.

Figure 2 - Diagram example using two Add blocks

Parameters:

This parameter defines the sign of each input signal, i.e. whether the signal is positive (added in the result) or negative (subtracted in the result).

Ports:

Input

The signal flowing into this port may keep its signal or change it depending on the first parameter of Signals of Inputs field.

Data Types:

The signal flowing into this port may keep its signal or change it depending on the second parameter of Signals of Inputs field

Data Types:
Output

The signal flowing from this port is the response of the mathematical operation using the input signals. The signal can be described by:

Out=(S1)×(In0)+(S2)×(In1)Out = (S_1)\times(In_0)+(S_2)\times(In_1)

Where:

  • S1S_1
    : Sign of first input.
  • S2S_2
    : Sign of second input.
  • In0In_0
    : Input Signal 0.
  • In1In_1
    : Input Signal 1.
  • OutOut
    : Output Signal.
