Power Function

Computes power function of signal samples

Category: Math

Description:

Power Function block implements three different mathematical operations according to the parameter set. Figure 1 shows the Power Function Properties tab and the available functions.

Figure 1 - Power Function block dialog

The second and third function options, i.e. u^n and u^(1/n) respectively, require an additional parameter n to be defined in the dialog. Figure 2 shows an example using all functions. When applicable, parameter n = 2.

Parameters:

The user can choose among three functions to be executed:

  • e^u - Returns the Euler's number raised to the power of the Input Signal value.
    Out=exp(In)Out = exp(In)
  • u^n - Returns the Input Signal value raised to the power of the parameter n.
    Out=InnOut = In^{n}
  • u^(1/n) - Returns the n-th root of the Input Signal value, according to the parameter n.
    Out=InnOut = \sqrt[n]{In}

Ports:

Input

Signal used in the power function operations.

Data Types:
Output

Result of the power function according to the parameters set.
