Generates periodic wave forms

Description:

Different periodic wave forms can be generated by this block. Supported functions are: sine, cosine, or square wave. Figure 1 shows some wave forms connected to a single scope. In Figure 2 the curves are shown in the same plot.

Parameters:

Time-dependent function used to generate a periodic signal. Each function type changes the Wave Form Properties to the corresponding parameters.

Function: Sin

Sine wave is generated. Configurable parameters:

Amplitude
DC Offset
Frequency [rad/s]
Phase [rad]

Usage of the function parameters in the equation of the time-dependent sine:

y(t) = amplitude*sin(frequency*t+phase)+DC

Function: Cos

Cosine wave is generated. Configurable parameters:

Amplitude
DC Offset
Frequency [rad/s]
Phase [rad]

Usage of the function parameters in the equation of the time-dependent cosine:

y(t) = amplitude*cos(frequency*t+phase)+DC

Function: Square

Generates a pulse-width modulated wave. Configurable parameters:

Upper Value
Lower Value
Frequency [Hz]
Duty Cycle [%]

These parameters are used in the equation below. One may configure an exact square wave by setting the duty cycle to 50%.

The signal output depends on the time-dependent function selected in the configuration parameters of the block.
